The Contractor Series
represents Easy Lawn's
entry into the paddle agitation
market. Easy Lawn
had a desire to build hydroseeding
units larger than 1200 gallons, and felt that
paddle agitation
was the most efficient system for these larger tank sizes. Designed
new from the ground up, Easy Lawn was able to combine the best
features from paddle agitation units already on the market and
incorporate some innovations of our own.
The Contractor Series
units feature a 54 hp Isuzu diesel engine with a 5 year/5000
hour warranty. They have an aggressive paddle design to keep
even the most difficult products in suspension. A mulch
grinder speeds loading, no matter how much water
is in the tank. BFM's (Bonded Fiber Matrix) are mixed much better
after first passing through the grinder. You don't have the
problem of chunks of mulch floating around in the tank above
the paddles like other machines on the market. Our discharge
pump is driven hydraulically, eliminating troublesome clutches
and the need to throttle the engine to alter pump performance.
The hose reel option features a quick disconnect so that you
can couple the hose directly to the pump. This is especially
helpful when pumping extra thick mixes. You can also disconnect
the hose altogether when you go to refill the tank with water,
eliminating the need to wind all the hose back up on the reel.
The Contractor Series
has the largest top deck storage capacity of any other hydroseeding
unit on the market. Our trailer mounted units have a ladder
on the front and back for better accessability and a tool box
in the tongue for storage. The top deck of our units is sprayed
with a polyethylene coating that has sand embedded in it, thus
improving traction and durability. Units 1200 gallons and larger
have a sliding gate on the top deck to ease loading of mulch
and other bulk materials.
Loading the tank can be accomplished much quicker because
you can load the water, mulch, and seed, fertilizer, lime,
etc. at the same time through three separate openings. There
is an opening for filling the unit with water that has a two
inch airgap fill pipe to allow filling from a fire hydrant.
There is also a spigot on the airgap pipe to accomodate a
garden hose so that you can clean the hydroseeding unit while
you are at the water source. The second opening has a hinged
lid and a bag breaker and is used to load your seed, fertilizer,
lime, etc. The third opening is the grinder which is used
for the loading of hydroseeding mulch into the tank.
The Contractor Series units are very easy to operate. All
engine, paddle, and grinder controls are centrally located
on the side of the grinder. Each set of controls is color
coded and bilingual. That's right, our control panel's major
functions are in english and spanish. They feature a two stage
electronic throttle, one position for mixing and one position
for spraying. There is a reversible paddle direction valve
and a separate speed control valve. The grinder has a reversible
valve right next to the paddle direction valve. To the right
of the paddle/grinder controls is the engine control panel.
It features the key switch, preheat coil, and indicator lights
for oil pressure, temperature, and charge. Just below the
engine panel is a tachometer with hour meter and a hydraulic
pressure gauge. On the bottom of the control panel, we have
included concise mixing instructions and mulch capacities
for the machine. Pump output is adjusted with the Pump Speed
Control (PSC), a simple hydraulic valve mounted right next
to the turret gun. Along side the PSC are provisions for the
four turret nozzles that come standard with the machine.
Easy Lawn strived
to keep maintenance to a minimum on the Contractor Series, and
the end result is a paddle agitation hydroseeding unit with
maintenance requirements comparable to our jet agitation machines.
Stainless steel tanks are standard, thus eliminating concerns
over tank corrosion from the lime, fertilizer, and water commonly
mixed in these machines. There are no clutches, belts, or chains
to maintain, tension, or replace. There are no tank seals that
require daily greasing. The only grease points are the turret
swivel and the hose reel swivel, and these only need to be greased
weekly. The combination of no gussets on the inside of the tank
and the use of stainless steel with a smooth 2B finish make
our tanks very easy to clean out at the end of the day.
All of these features would be pointless if the Contractor
Series doesn't perform, and perform they do. Our discharge
pump has more flow and pressure than any other paddle machine
on the market. The Contractor Series will easily pump through
300' of 1 1/4" hose or will spray up to 170' with the turret
gun. These units are available in 950, 1250, and 1700 gallons
and will hold more mulch than any other machine on the market
of comparable size.
The C95 and C125 are available
skid or trailer mounted, and the C170 is available chassis
mounted only. Coming soon will be 2800 and 3300 gallon versions
of the Contractor Series featuring a 174 hp Isuzu diesel,
dual paddles, and dual discharge pump capability.
